First time owner mollie support

Hi

We are first time fish owners but when we opened the bag at home one of the mollies has a large chunk missing from its side what should we do?

What is it ? A bunch of scales missing ? It will either fungus or heal on its own without you having to do anything but I would add aquarium salt as a preventative measure . Four teaspoons per ten gallons of water to ward off infection . @Colin_T What say you ?

Hmmm . . . . not much you can do but watch and wait . I wish I could tell you more .

The healing process with mollies and all fish I guess is atleast partially dicated by the water parameters and quality. With mollies, especially black mollies, the GH (general hardness) is important. Do you know your GH levels?
