Not sure if this is the right place or not, so feel free to move if not.

This is my 1st attempt at a Marine set up, and after 20+ years of keeping Tropical, I decided to take the plunge.

Hope you all like it, and please be gentle

I added 4 Green Chromis, and a Pink scooter blenny a week or so after these were taken.

I have 2 T5's for lighting, turnover is about 36x, and the tank is a Fluval Vicenza bow front, which holds 260 litres before rock. It has about 50kg of LR in there, and I will probably add a bit more at some point.

Looks pretty nice, not sure on the bright blue light though.
Keep us updated on the progress.

The blue light isnt as blue as that, its just the way the pic came out.

Looking good,

I'd take the covers of the Seios (if that's what they are).

Got a similar tank myself, keep us posted.

Yeah they are Seios, for what reason should I take them off? Incidentaly, the algae on the pumps has gone, thanks to the turbos.

More flow, and personally I prefer the 'camera' look. If the flow has to go around a 90 degree bend it must lose a bit of umfph. without the cases it also has a wider stream effect which should be more beneficial for corals etc.

Agreed, the seios do run better without that right angle covering. More flow.

The tank looks great though. Lighting is lower, but you've got lower light corals, so good choices :good:. They all look healthy, that's for sure.

And lastly, looks like your tank lacks surface agitation. Currently with a low fish load, this likely isn't a problem, but if you start stocking more heavily with corals/fish, you may run into some CO2 issues without more surface agitation. Something to think about for the future :)

Thank you, you asked my next question, about surface agitation. Over the weekend I sat for an hour watching it, and seeing if I can improve, and I did mention to the Wife, that I think I need some kind of powerhead higher up. I think I will purchase one today.

I purposely went for lower light corals, based on what I read here, and the fact there were only 2 tubes in the lid. I will hope to change that soon, and have 4 T5's.
