Ignore the dates on the pictures, Camera is set-up wrong !

Cant wait to get fish in :hyper:

Very nice first set up. Are those real plants? oh I love the bogwood piece ^_^ whats the tank stock?

well i liked it in the other post so i suppose i still like it :)

Yeh real plants :)

I was thinking....

4 x Peppered Cory
2 x Shrimp
1 x Male Betta
3 x Gourami

I wouldn't put the Betta with the Gourami as you may end up with them attacking each other. Bettas are also solitary fish so would be better in a tank on their own. Also, it would make your stocking list a lot easier as Bettas are too temperamental and you may struggle finding suitable tankmates.

Bloke in my LFS said that Gourami's and Betta will be ok together, Because there from the same family and Aslong as you have plenty of plantation , The Gouramis will just stay in there?

The bloke at your LFS (IMHO) knows that the more problems you have the more money you'll end up spending, what species of gourami are you planning on keeping and in what male to female ratio?
Some people get away with keeping a betta with gourami but i doubt many of the more experienced (not me!! i mean i'm not experienced, well in some things, but... i digress  ) fish keepers on this site would recommend you risk it in the first place...

I agree, if you're getting gouramis, no betta and vis-versa... I've (unfortunatly) made this mistake before, long ago when I just began in the hobby... I placed 2 Moonlight Gouramis and 1 male betta in a 10gallon tank (yet another noobie mistake), heavily planted it with fake plants, and 2 days later I had 1 gourami left... Bad sight, wish I caught on sooner but unfortunatly I didn't :(

I'm not to shore what to do now, from some of your stories. Really want Male Betta but looks like No Gouramis then. Im in two minds!

For your community tank (not dwarf) gouramis are the most sensible option, bettas are not always community compatible, of course you can never really predict what will happen, you could just avoid anabantoids altogether. But the betta will be a risk.
The other thing is you can get a relatively cheap tank (£40-50 in england) suitable for holding a betta.
Maybe that could be your next project?
