This is my first tank, just wondering how I could improve it? Opinions?
I'm using
Natural sand
Dragon stone
Piece of Bog wood
Fake plants
Tiny cabin ornament
Sponge filter
Airstone in opposite corner
Black vinyl on back
Digital thermometer
Heater
I'm thinking of getting real plants in the future but keeping it simple for now.

Wow... that is awesome! It looks super good, and for a first tank... that's crazy. Great job and keep up the good work. I agree that some live plants can make the aquascape go a long way. I recommend some kind of amazon sword in the back, maybe attach some java fern to rocks and hide them behind the dragon stone, an attach some anubias to the dragon stone (Maybe nana or petite). If you do add live plants though, you might want to do a bit of research of how to keep them. Outside of that, the tank is looking fantastic. Good job!

It does look really good :) Some real plants will really help it though.

One trick you could do if you ever re-arange the rocks is make all the lines in the rock go the same way. You can usually which way the lines go. Most of the rocks in the back left run horizontal but the rest are vertical, if you had them going all the same way either angled, vertical or horizontal it would look more natural, like they were in a river with the current carving out the lines.

Thanks man appreciate your comments.
I like the idea of live plants attached to the rocks, some kind of moss, definitely something I'll look into.
Cheers ??

Thanks bud.
Yea I tried a few different arrangements for the rocks, looked slightly cluttered all stood up but I agree more natural. In the end kind of went for a mountain/canyon vibe.
I will rearranged at some point in the future and like the idea of a more natural look, possibly with slight tannins in the water.
Cheers ?
