This is the Ly Seng method i was talking about sorry the pis so small but thoes with good eyesight will see it!

I could use the Ly Seng Ecosystem method but incorparate a closed loops for the skimmer I would need a downdraft one to ues with a power head then this would count toward my tank turnover?? I think I'm right?

"With feeding a moray I would want a skimmer on the tank. Wouldn't go without one"

Superman wwhat did you mean by a Moray?? isn't that a eel????

Been doing more reading and found a system knowen as the Ly Seng Ecosystem? where a prot skim is not needed? As I will only be keeping the mory hardy soft corale and maybe a cleanup crew plus 2 nemo! (things you do for love!) Dose anyone have any more info?

I guess I read your post wrong, when you spelled more as "mory" I guess as I skimmed I thought you wree listing things off like, "moray, hardy soft corale...
I misread, sorry, you may be able to get away without a protein skimmer with ony a couple of percula clowns. I am unsure how you would incorporate a protein skimmer into a closed loop, though I may be misinterpreting your description.

Np about the morey thing my spelling isn't the best! as for the skimmer if I can get out of using one then I would like to However if It's better for the Creachers I'll be keeping then thats fine with me. As for the closed loop, I read a artical in a mag think it was Tropica Fish (uk) It was listing all the typs of skimmer avalible and one was a downdraft skimmer. Water enters the top of the chamber and leaves out the bottem by the means of a pump. this chamber has the air stone in and the cup is on the top. Do you know of these? any good? if my idea is not feasable then just a powerhead and the skimmer if i get one will have to go in the sump. The tank doesn't have enough room at the back for a HOB. The tanks 101x45 and the gap is 109x47. LIKE A GLOVE!!!!!!

The closed loop threw me, it is a term that is commonly used for a completely different type of application in aquariums, sorry for misunderstanding you. I would put the skimmer in the sump, get something like an ASM or Euroreef in sump, you will be very happy. I wouldn't go with an air stone or downdraft skimmer, but that is just my opinion.

"get something like an ASM or Euroreef in sump"

If they don't need an airstone how do they work?

Could you tell me or do you know of a site that will have the info on it

Also thaks for all the advice so far can wait to get this project up and running but just collecting all the info i can first as mose people on here advise. Got myself a folder full!!!

ASM/Euroreef skimmer work off of a venturi that is placed on the input of it's pump and there is a needlwheel that is coupled with the pump's impeller that then chops up the air as it is pumped in with the water. You get completely consistant air flow, so all you have to adjust is the height of the water column in the skimmer.
