Hey all, names Gary from sunny South Wales

Just about to start my first tropical adventure and got myself a second hand tank fairly priced to get myself going. Came with an external filter, lights, heater and powerhead (bonus) so pretty much most of what i need equipment wise!!

Got a fair few questions before i add even the water but i'll aim those to the relevant sections.

Think im going to go for a low light, planted set-up from the off. I know its maybe not always recommended to start off planted but a low light affair seems relatively easy to handle (i think).

Cheers,
Gaz.

Welcome to TFF! Starting off with low light plants is not a tough way to start, many members with planted tanks started in just that way. We have topic links compiled in one place to make your start easier; http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/277264-beginners-resource-center/

:hi: to the forum! I'm one of the common livebearer experts, though i can help with some other stuff. Common livebearers are guppies, swordtails, mollies and platies!

Alessa x.
