First Pictures Of My Fish ***9 Big Photos***

Wow, everyone on here is so nice. Thanks for all the comments!

Your pictures are great! I wish my camera phone took pictures that well. My pictures are aweful. My harlequins posed for a tiny bit, but it's still blurry. At least they look like fish in that photo. But your fish look like actual fish.

How the heck did you get them to hold still long enough to take pictures? Very nice!

It's that split second when they don't move and literally hold the school. Doesn't happen very often. See the picture is still blurry, but not too crappy for a camera phone.

Sorry to hijack, but you asked.

No problem lljdma06! B)

lljdma06 is right. But it takes lots of trial and error. I probably took a hundred pictures over 3 days until I finally got this handful. Also having a digital SLR with a great flash really helps. I like to take closeup pictures of the fish with the tank light on and all the room lights on and with the camera's flash on. You have to test to see what angles to hold the camera so the flash doesn't show on the picture... or if you do have flash spots, they are in the corner and you can crop them out. The night picture had the fish tank light out and the flash off, but I had room lights on.

Take care, Mandy.

Great pics, especially the one of the pleco on the rock. How big is it, and how long have you had it for?

I've only had the tank and most of it's inhabitants for a month now. The bristlenose is about 2". He was an inch when I first got him.

Awesome pics!

 All of your mollies have that "Give me food or you die" look.

Maybe it's molly then. :) It just looked a bit more like a swordtail to me.

Not sure if someone said this already but to lazy to read through all the post. :look:

But is that white/gray molly pregnat or just really fat?

I've never had mollys before, but I think she's pregnant. She looks really ripe today. Oh boy, I'm not ready for fry yet. I'm hoping the little ground cover will save most because I don't have a second tank running yet. :crosses fingers:

i think the red one is actually a platy rarther than a molly and the white one looks like a swordtail to me. Anyone else think this?? if not i may be wrong.

no the white one isn't a swordfish... but I agree with you on the red one...

Hey have any of you ever seen these new (new to me anyway) types of ifsh that it looks like they just paint them I don't think they are the glowfish...they look more like glass fish but with color outlines...
really cool looking unfortunalty I don't have any pictures I saw that at the Aquarium Arts fish store in Arizona.

Mmmm, those sound like dyed glass fish... poor guys. :(

I still think all my fish are mollys although I'm new to livebearers and no expert; platys do look a whole lot like mollys. The little 1" guy still has a lot of growing to do, so we'll see; he's cute either way. :*)
