First Fish

You know, to be honest, when I was ignorant and starting out, i did not know what cycling was and dumped all sorts of fish into the the tank in first few weeks, using a baterial formula of some kind, which I cna not remember the name of, and my fish were all fine....

I am not suggesting this as a good way of doing things, and would never do it again myself, but honestly those few fish should be just fine in that tank.

Black phantom tetras or platies are great first fish.
Try not to rush on getting fish(I made this mistake and they all died)
Good luck though

i did the same thing :D except i didnt add any formula and i added them all on the same day

Id take the fish back, or try to give or sell them to any other store that you can and save their lives. Tetras may be hardy, but they arent when it comes to the amount of ammonia in the cycling process.

That is total rubbish. Many people let the water stand with nothing but the filter running for 24 hours, then add some tetras and danios to cycle the tank. He has left things for ten days, and its a large tank. He may lose a fish or two, but there certainly won't be any significant death rates.
