I got got my first ever fish home about an hour and a quarter ago. I got 3 Harlequin Rasboras (don't worry I wil be getting more during the week so they have plenty of friends) and just wanted to say how fab they are and how pleased I am! I have acclimated them to the tank and now they are swimming around happily exploring and have even been playing in the filter flow. They are colouring up beautifully already.

I'm now officially a fishkeeper! Yay!!!! :D :D :D

Aylana :)

Yeah congratz! :D Good luck and happy fishkeeping! It's lovely getting your first fish...you just sit there for ages watching them!

Thanks guys!

Yep I have to keep dragging myself away from the tank to get food etc, they are so great! They are currently exploring the bottom of the tank and looking dubiously at the bogwood. I've been trying to take pictures but it is so hard! I've got about 20 photos of blurs!!!

At the moment their names are big, medium and small (can you guess why), big and medium are fairly adventurous but small just follows them around and won't go anywhere by himself!

I think I'm becoming a fish bore! :D

Congrats, welcome to keeping fish.

yey :) I always wanted rasboras, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying them. :) what else are you planning to get? (no reason, I'm just nosy!)

Since you fishless cycled you could add more immediately. One of the benefits of the fishless cycle, it could handle larger bio load in the beginning.

With only 3 you risk the chance of beneficial bacteria dying off to meet demand.
Or lack of demand :)

Maybe to people who don't keep fish but not to us!!! In my experience, the posters here are always as excited about my fish as they are about their own fish.

Welcome aboard...never a fish bore here. Welcome small, medium and large. SH
