I'm very flattered by all the kind words! My betta is too; he's apologized for trying to chew me up into bits (though I wouldn't put it past him to try again if I put my guard down).
Michael_Roth: Thanks for the kind words
It's too bad I didn't have macro on as I might have had a chance of getting him in focus
At the time I don't know if I knew what macro was though...
dwarf_dude, kbaby and Fiddlesticks: He certainly does have an attitude! I do like his colors quite a bit, the Nikon was able to capture him in a way that actually looks more vibrant than he does in normal light.
silver: I'm very appreciative of the kind sentiment! I hope to take even better photos of him in the future (hopefully something like the awesome pictures you took of the Japanese garden displayed in another post
)
cation: I already am starting to set up a 5.5g tank with java fern, java moss and anubias for a sort of primitive asian forest landscape with the thought of getting a half-moon or a crowntail... There should be an analogous syndrome to MTS called plural betta disorder, or multiple betta disease or something. It strikes me that they are sort of like tribbles, except less furry. I also came up with this ridiculous, outlandish, impractical plan to splice together four 20 gallon tanks at different levels, cut part of the glass out, put in some rice plants, rocks, and sand and replicate a Vietnamese rice paddy biotope. That's a topic for another thread though...
EDIT: Auratus: Thanks
