So this is my first attempt at the aquascaping. I now have a much greater respect for those of you creating such beautiful tanks as its so hard. It's not quite finished yet, more grass and moss going in this weekend. I had an idea in my head of how I wanted it to look, this doesn't look anything like it!
Well there we go, please be gentle! :)

I like it, I'm just curious as to why there are logs floating if that's what they even are haha but I really like it. I am thinking of trying my hand at this also

Those spiral bits of wood are floating because they haven't got completely water logged yet to sink but I quite like them up there so I may find a way of keeping them up.

Thanks. No idea what fish yet, I'm still letting the tank cycle for a while before I start adding. This being my first attempt I'd just like the hardy fish. The plants I've completely forgotten the names of I'm sorry!

Haha it's fine and easily forgotten!
Some cardinal or neon tetras could look quote good and brighten up the tank a bit. I personally would just have small tetras and/or just normal small fish like mollies, platy, guppies, swordtails etc. even a dwarf gourami could look quite good! :)

Looks great, especially for a 1st attempt.
The plant that's in the right front corner, sword maybe? You should bring it out from the glass a little so its leaves can open out a bit more, rather than being bunched in. But other than that... Well done :good:

I was only going to stick with small fish, I would prefer a school of 10-15 rather than 1 or 2 larger fish some tetras, mollies and dwarf gourami are probably going to be all I'll have and some shrimp.
Cheers Gary, I have since moved that plant out of the corner a bit.
Choosing plants is so difficult! I would give a lot of the gravel carpeted in the plant that looks a little like water cress only shorter?

the wood looks like roots just dipping into the water so I'd leave it if it were me, it looks nice.

That's a cracking tank, Wiskin. I like the substate too, is that the AquaOne black gravel?

Thanks Lock man, I appreciate that. I'm rresisting the urge to pull it all out and start again, maybe I'll get another tank as well.
It is aquaone black gravel yes, I went with black as I like how the green plants look against the black. I do wish I'd built the fertilizer up more and had piled up some smaller dark rocks.
Still, next time, I'm still learning!

Agreed. I might see what it looks like in my tank if i tie some roots to the light unit and suspend them.
Think you may have started something here!!

Thank you, really appreciate that. I added a few plants today, couldn't get the moss I wanted but did add 5 harlequins who have settled in nicely and are swimming with the danios.
