I had a firemouth cichlid when I 'inherited' my tank but being a newbie I wanted a community tank so I didn't have to worry about who was eating who :*) . My LFS said he was probably the one eating my cardinal tetras so I 're-homed' him with them. Now I think my cardinals died of 'new tank syndrome' . I've heard their quite hard to keep. I wish I'd kept my cichlid coz he was so friendly. I never saw him try anything with my other fish and he was so curious. Always coming to the glass when you go near. Good luck with yours - their gorgeous! :kewlpics:

I have little tetras in with my fm and they don't even notice them...some people also keep mollies and swordtails with them...
