Fire Island Lighthouse

Took a quick pic the other day from a distance. We are fortunate as we only live about 10-15 mins from here. The other is a cheesy pic from the car of the beautiful double bridges leading to/away from the beach. Feel free to post pix if you live near a light. SH

we live in plymouth, uk.. right next to plymoth hoe, which is home to Smeaton's Tower...

dunno.. but i saw a photo on a pub wall one time with a light house out on some rocks, and this massive wave was crashing against the backside of the light house, practically reaching the top.. it was amazing.. how exciting would it be to stay in a light house during a storm!!

I went to fire island last year, the view from the top of the lighthouse is pretty cool

GREAT ADDITION...you know, I've never made it up there. I always arrive in the evening or after hours. However, I hear they have a dinner tour. One day. Great shots.


BTW..for those curious, the top shot appears to be looking east; the middle shot looking west with the Atlantic on the left and Great South Bay on the right.What looks to be a little road on the left side is a boardwalk to leads out to the light. SH

Thanks, my little brother was a boyscout, so I got dragged along on their little trip because of my mom

Can't stay away from there. Adding a few more shots if anyone is interested or likes lighthouses. SH

The keepers house which is now a museum. I may be wrong, but, I'm pretty sure that this view is used as the Post Office in MIB II.
