fire eel info

im looking for info on fire eels wat they eat , tank size any thing at all will help so please respond.

Whilst most books will say they reach about 20inches, fire eels can reach 39 inches and really need to be the only inhabitant of a tank or at least in a species tank. Talking about tank sizes id recommend 150GALS minimum.

I've had a fire eel for about a year now. he (she) currently resides in a 4ft 122l tank which he shares quire happily with a marbled and senegules birchirs, african knife fish climbing perch and bristlenose cat. feeds quite happily on frozen bloodworm and peeled prawns which he will take from your fingers! he is approx 14in long and approx 1in in girth and is fed every other day
