i was wondering if anyone has a really good way to feed their eel without putting their hand in the tank with worms
my best idea was clamping a chunk of worms on one of my clamp thingys and put it rite on from of its hiding place and let it drag it in to feast but all try fishes try to steal it while it is dragging it in

anyone have a better idea so my eel wont get its food stolen?

I use a syringe with a piece of air-line attached filled with un-frozen bloodworm to target feed to my fire eel.

Ben

throw some food in one end of the tank to distract your fish then feed the worms to him.how bigs his tank?i have no problems feeding my fire eel he is first out to claim his share of the food.i do the opposite of what i suggested to you to make sure he dont eat them all

i dont like to reach 2 feet deep into my tank -_-
i dont mind hand feeding but i just dont like putting my whole arm down there
and if i dont reach all the way down my gourami and parrots would probably eat it in one bite

umm my jardini is about 13 to 14" and its pretty aggresive and when i throw feeders in it doesnt even give them time to get use to the water

ringham which fish are you talking about?
is it my gourami?
yes hes kinda a agressive, its a food hog, when i throw in pellets it like scares all the parrots away so it can enjoy the food slowly
funny but sad

btw i have 2 different tanks and keep my gourami and jardini in different tanks
i think my gourami can beat the crap out of my jardini
arrow bites are so weak

I was interested on both.

At the moment I have a 3" jardini and a 4" giant gourami in the same tank. I am planning on getting another 5' tank in the near future though.

Man or Mouse get your hand in there i loved feeding my fire eel by hand it would wrap it's body around my hand trying to get the worm great fun ...

do you intend on keeping your jardini now ringham?is that what the new tanks for?

I know a person who has bought a fish tank but when they got it they found out that they couldn't use it. If I can buy it off them for pretty cheap (which I think I will) Then I think that the aro will be okay by itself. Or am I being a bit too optimistic? i.e. would the aro still be far to big? In the end I want to keep it for as long as posible and if 5' is too short (I think that it is) I know that my LFS will home it for me.
