2 weeks ago we lost our 18month old persian cat to F.I.P. Does anyone know if we could have another kitten. or how long we have to wait?

I would have your entire home professionally cleaned...or do it yourself. That means steam and disinfect everything, especially carpets, rugs, curtains, and furniture. Even wipe down the walls, especially corners of your house as cats like to rub their facial scent glands on corners, door hinges, etc.

That said, you could have several cats in your home, have one die of FIP, and the others can be fine. FIP is a mutation of the corona virus, which pretty much every cat has been exposed to at some point in his or her life. Only in about 2-3% of cats does corona virus mutate into FIP. There is no vaccine, cure, or reliable test for FIP while the cat is alive, unfortunately.

I'm so sorry you lost your cat to FIP. Just know that it wasn't your fault, and nothing you could have done would have saved your cat.
