Finally got Daphnia

Gabe,I really don't think I did anything special for the daphnia, maybe occasionally remove some of the algae if it got to be too thick, but then in those days I wasn't the stickler for regular partial water changes that I am now. These days, I probably would change out some of the water occasionally. The plastic container idea sounds great! And aren't ya a little jealous of smithrc? Must be nice to be able to buy live foods from the lfs. Only experience I've had with that was a shop that has since gone out of business, and they only carried live brine shrimp occasionally. I also used to buy marine phytoplankton from them until I figured out how easy it was to grow your own. Give that shop as much business as you can, smithrc, ones like that are few and far between!

Yes I am very jelous of smithrc. Although around here live food would probably be expensive  Hopefully where he is it's a good price.

Thanks very much for your help fishdudein, it's much appreciated  I have moved the daphnia to a huge pickle jar, but I would still like something plastic instead. I'll keep you updated if you like on how things are going. Hopefully I'll be able to keep them going for a long time.

Gabe

i'm always a bit dubious about buying bagged live foods... half of them arnt live and your never sure what they have got in there with them...

I rinse any that i do get in a net first...

I've started to hatch my own brine shrimp now - actually very easy to do :)
