Finally Found What Im Looking For....

Fish keeping is a relaxing peaceful hobby..... Once you get your tank how you like it lol I remember when I did a water change in one of my old jewel vision 260 tanks and afterwards my APS EF2000+ filter wouldn't prime properly... I was there for ages trying but it was still making an awful noise, think there was trapped air but all I know is I was moments away from smashing the filter up lol

Once it eventually primed I had a nice peaceful tank again...

Priming my filter is a git too, I hate doing it, I've had my carbon in and out lately doing treatments, whenever I restart it, it spits out loads of the cotton wool type stuff into my tank and it looks awful and takes ages to get re filtered.

I'm going to have to cut the wood but I'm off to football now so will have to wait. Maybe tomorrow, have to wait for it to dry out again first......

Yea it was a nightmare. I have different filters now... I have 2 tetratec ex1200's and they are so much better. You can turn them off, do maintenance, turn back on and they re prime on their own with no problems :) no overspill of wool going back into the tank either

Spent the morning trying to get the wood in again. It still wont go so Ive cut it up

But it seems to work, but now the seperate pieces float when they didnt before..

I have a rock on it to hold it down now. :good:

This is how my tank used to look.........

I wasnt happy with it, so have spent a month working on it when I can.

Ive changed the gravel, decoration, and added some more plants today, and its looking more how I want, not perfect but I'm a lot happier with it.....just need some cotton to attach my java fern to the wood (but I'm a man so I dont own any cotton )

Here it is now, quite a transformation eh??!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Where did you get that bit of wood from? I've been looking for something along those lines but haven't found anything suitable yet.

I got lucky, I only have 1 local shop, which is a Maidenhead Aquatics, but it doesnt carry much wood, I constantly used to hassle them but they never had any so I popped down to Brighton which has several shops.

I found it in one of them, it was called Paraquatics, based in Portland Road, I found it in a dusty corner of the shop on top of a tank that was for sale.

They did have a similar piece, (not as spindley but still looked good) actually in a tank for sale, if you email them and ask them to send you a photo its probably still for sale, ask to see the bit thats in the black square tank at the back of the store, you may get lucky too.... :good:

heres their website....... www.paraquatics.co.uk
