Ok so I couldn't wait till the tank finished cycling to post my ideas for stocking lists all thoughts, concerns welcome. Tanks size is 29 gal. 30 1/4 X 12 X 18 1/2

Option A :

6 guppies
1 BN cat
6 cherry barbs
pair of rams (bolivian or balloon)
2 angels M+F (tank height is 18 1/2 inches)
5 cherry shrimp

Option B :

6 guppies
1 BN cat
6 Black neons
pair of rams (bolivian or balloon)
3 honeys (1 m and 2 f)
5 cherry shrimp

Option C :

1 bn cat
6 cherry barbs or black neons
6 corrys
pair of rams (bolivian or balloon)
2 angels (male and female)
5 cherry shrimp

These were my thoughts from what I've read they should work but I'm not positive so its why I'm posting I need the experts advise so I don't screw this up :)

Oh come on nobody has anything to say even if its those options would work or not come on lol :hyper: :shout:

The BN cat fish are great, and so far get on fine with my ghost shrimp. we have cherry shrimp in the guppies and neons and from what we can tell it is the ghost shrimp that have been keeping the numbers down annoyingly!

Eh option C - without the rams

for me i just try things to see what works for me

there is only a slight difference between option A B and C

all the fish will be small when you get them get whats on the list and remove fish as they grow this will give you a chance to see what works and what doesn't

i would like to know how you are going to sex young angels

and I'm not a great lover of ANY type of balloon fish

whats the big crazy with shrimps at the moment

Well in my experiences, the rams and the angels will pick of the shrimp quickly. I would agree with Biulu that the guppies might get a bit nippy with the angels, but also the barbs might be a little nippy. So with that I would go with option C, using the 6 black neons, 2 german blue rams, 6 sterbai cory cats, one BN cat, and 2 angels. And being partial, I would make it all live plants too, everything will like that way more!

Thanks all for the advice. Think I'm going to go with option C minus the shrimp. I'm giong to start off with the guppies if they get too nippy with the angels I will rehome them to my dads buddy. I'm kinda was wondering the same thing about the angels I need to go see how to sex them when they're young I really would like a male and female but if not do the males get aggressive with each other like some other fish?

I agree with schooly20. .....only angels I'd put out of the picture, those are semiagresive not to mention the size they'll be when adults, almost like discus in size......

But if you like those combinations I'd go with option B

Yea just been doing some more research on the angels. I really do like them but with them getting 5 to 8 inches when adults might be too much. Without the guppies and I orginally put the angels at 6.5 inches when adults and dropped the cory's to 5 I ended up with roughtly 40 to 45 inches of fish which isn't too bad with the filter I have in the tank and my regime of doing probably at least 2 wc's a week the filter is orginally for a 45 gal tank. But looking at option B now as well but could I still get away with any cory's in option B? Oh and I'm also dropping the shrimp out all together as they will more than likely become food and since they're kinda costly for shrimp I'll pass on that :good: Wish I could have the angels though but I'd have to cut back a lot of my stocking and really don't want only angels in the tank so will have to pass unfortuently on them
