Hi all,

I have a 240LTR aquarium set up which currently occupys the following fish,

1 common plec(still only 2-3inches)
8 neon tetras
3 panda corys
4 albino corys
4mixed mollies

Water temp is around the 26
PH is 7.2
Water is slightly hard

I am looking for mid to top level swimmers and would like a 'biggish' fish to be the focus point of the tank.

All suggestions welcome :))

a betta? maybe not sure 100% if it would mix

(Mike455555) Wouldn't have a Betta with Neons.

The Common Plec will get very big and quickly (also messy as hell)

Mollies? (Not very adventurous  )

You have 240lts of space.........be creative! :hyper:

iv kept several betta with neons they get on fine in my books :good: its fish with longer tails which betta pick on (i think)

Ive had a Betta with Neons & gliw light tetras with no problems. Try to avoid similar sized and coloured fish same as the Betta. I added mollies with no issues but when i added an all black mollie (my Betta Sammy was dark blue!) all hell broke loose as he just chased the molly endlessly until i had to remove it.
That aside, my Betta was great and had no problems at all, great with BNP's too. Though i would suggest add the Betta last as they can get quite territorial!!
Great beutiful fish Bettas ... I love them!!

Been told Betta's don't really feel comfortable in large tanks? And do much better in smaller tanks.

And what's wrong with mollies??? they may be cheap and very common however there still very attractive fish!

Any more suggestions? I was thinking about having two Angels and some Bolivian rams is this a good idea?

up the numbers of those corys to a decent size - 6+ minimum for each species.

scrap the common as soon as possible - fast grower.

top to mid swimmers rules out the dwarf cichlids. Angels could work with the neons, if added as juveniles (it worked for me).
