Fin rot??

What does fin rot look like??
I just got a new betta and the tips of his tail is black, his body is red and I don't know if this color on his tail is his natural color or not??

I too thought mine had just a different color until it started eating the fin away. Attached is a picture of my fin rot that I am still treating.

it can be,
usually it starts out brown then black
and suddenly it has bloody looking tips and starts to rot away
at the bloody stage it CAN have white edges

If I was taught correctly:
Black type is bacterial and white is fungas. They are both considered fin rot.
