So 2 of my angels have some not so good looking tail fins (noticed one a day or so ago and the other 2day) I dont have water params right now but will shortly. Is this fin rot and if so how do I treat it. There isnt an over crowding problem but I have been changing the substate and was searching for a missing eel in the substrate. Could stress be causing this? and is there some fishy valium I could trow in there???? But seriously is there meds I could should use?

so I added some salt on the advice of a guy at a lfs.....is this sufficient?

Finrot in angels needs to be treated with antibiotics such as Kanacyn. Remove them to a hospital tank, though, so as not to upset your tank bacteria. Did this with my angels and sent my tank through a "mini cycle" again. Should clear up quickly after treatment.
Any idea as to how they got this stressed to begin with? Any new additions that were not quarantined?

thats the thing I dont know how they got stressed...unless its a black skirt tetra bugging them....no new additions and parametersdidnt change.....
Im going with the salt for now....I'll give it a couple more days and if no progress or it gets worse I will use meds....My hospital tank is down right now so meds would be a last resort

Are the fins lined with white first off. Even breeded pairs can get snippy at eachother, so its possible they where squabiling.

no there not lined with white....so it might just be they had a little squabble? Also I have there temp to low, they like it between 80-85F and I have mine at 78 so Im gonna bump the temp up also.
