Sorry for all the questions:

What are the pros and cons of an external filter?

What are the pros and cons of a built in filter such as in a 'juwel' aquarium or the 'fish r fun' aquariums??

Sorry if they are stupid questions.....

Thanks in advance...

externals allow a greater amount of filter media; ergo a greater amount of bacteria and mechanical filtration, thus allowing you to increase you stock levels slightly.

juwel filters are ok, but if you can add an external then I would.

the FRF type filter(as found in the frf2100 that you are looking at) is very adaptable and can be used for many types of media, you don't have to stick with the floss and carbon it comes with. think of the 2100s filter boxes as mini cannisters

no need for thanks, that's what I come here for :)
as thanks are given; your welcome
