i'm thinking of changing my tropical tank to either a planted tank or a fish only salty tank and i'm leaning more to the fish only salty tank i was just wondering what would be the best filter for this!

i've been looking at fluidized sand bed filters has anyone here used them, are using them. i was just wondering what the pros and cons are, or if anyone else has any better ideas for a filter with just fish only marine.

thanx!

dont really wanna go down the sump route yet just want to get the tank up and running!

A sump is the easiest option IMHO, and has to be installed before water hit the main tank !
There are a lot of threads on this, as well as numerous websites.. you CAN use a bog standard "filter", but the benefits of a sump far outweigh the inconvenience....

But obviously this is your decision.
Be nice to see more opinions - you may fare better in the marine section of the board ?
