I was just wondering.. would it be completely pointless to put a filter in a 1 gallon tank? I'm setting up for a new betta and I put an air pump filter in there.. it's really bubbley. I tried to do the nylon thing but that doesn't seem to make much of a difference.. Should I just forget the filter or does it make a difference in the water?

A one gallon tank is too small to cycle so a filter is a bit pointless, instaed you need to do 100% water changes weekly (ish)
Why not get a 5g+ tank with a filter & save the fish some stress & yourself a lot of work?

Well, I change the water once a week anyway.. I don't mind doing the changes. I guess I will just take the filter out then.
I would get a 5g tank but I have no money.. and no place to put it. So there goes that idea. :/ Thanks for your help! ;)

Can you not turn the filter slower or put a valve on . what sort of filter is it?

It must be a cheapo one cause it came with the tank that I got.. It says Hawkeye Aquarium Air Pump.
It has an air stone thingy too

you can get like plastic valves from your lfs really cheap and you just cut the plastic tube and put it in then you can turn it up or down.

One of my bettas didnt like the bubbles so have never bothered to try with the others.
