hi i have a new fish tank coming soon 8 gallon hex and i already have brought fluval filter for this tank i was wondering if i could run the new filter in my current 15 gallon tank for a couple of weeks before new tank arrives and will this help cycling cycle so when i put filter in new tank it will have some good bactira in it.
the filter is a fluvaL 1 UNDERWATER FILTER .i will still be running normal filter in my tank.

It would help out your new tank for sure... but you have to think about your present tank. You would be taking away a lot of the benificial bacteria. Maybe do a waterchange, keep the water and run the new filter in it till you get the tank?
