Filter Wool

i change my filter wool every 2 weeks just wondering is that good should i be doing it more or less or is it just fine, and would i need to clean out my sponges every 2weeks too?

as long as your cleaning them with either water from your tank or Ro water then yes thats fine but also depends on how big your tank / filters are

I always thought that you do not need to change filter wool until the other one is "worn" or beginning to disintigrate. I change my filter wool every 3 months, and my water is pretty clear. Not using anything else to clarify the water either.

I always change mine on every clean. lets face it, the cost is minuscule! mind you, i only clean my filters once every 6-9 months. as i have now gone to 2 eheims 2224's. i change the white pads every 2 cleans.

I guess it does not really matter, just do what you feel comfortable with.
