a friend has given me an Aquaone maxi 102f filter, this is for a 75l tank but i want to put it in my 30l tank, would this be too powerful for the tank or would it be better?

Thanks, Nick

i would of thought yes it would be too strong but i suppose the choice of fish would determine it ultimately

Then yes, that is too much filtration/water flow. :)

Get a small internal sponge filter for fry and you should be fine. :)

thanks for your help

as another option i have a 130l tank which has a wet dry trickle filter, if i added the filter to this tank would it benefit it enough to make a difference to the water quality or not worth it?

Thanks, Nick

trickle filters are one of the best, imo. It would make a difference.

Any filtration will help. You just don't want any current from it and nowhere the fry can be sucked up into it. Those are the main 2 concerns with fry.
