Hi everyone. So my filter has recently died and now i'm looking into a new filter. My tank is a planted. Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm not looking for canister filter cause i've had bad experiences with them. Thanks.

Maidenhead Aquatics filters are pretty handy if you're just looking for a internal filter. Canister filters are superior though!

Need a bit more info on your tank size, please. Fluval internals are quite good, though.

I'm using a penn plax cascade hang-on power filter 80 on my ten gallon and a top fin power filter 10 and a Tetra whisper PF10 on a 15 gallon. All of them seem to have pros and cons. The top fin and tetra can both get really freaking noisy and neither are adjustable. The penn plax is very quiet  to the point I have to check to make sure it is working. It is adjustable but it only has two settings. The filter on the penn plax is more difficult to find in stores and it is also really small.

i have an interpret pf1
fantastic,
cheap enough,
easy to buy spares and filters etc.

my tank is a 29 gallon.
