hi

About to start setting up a new 200/250L tank and i'm thinking of using an Eheim Pro 11 2026/28
with a Vecton 15w steriliser.

The question's are will the flow rate of the 2028 be too much for this steriliser, any suggestions for alterantives, the best way of connecting filter and steriliser , and what type of connectors are on the steriliser in case I need to buy any special fitting/pipe

Also anyone know of an good online store for tank hoods, as I would like to have a choice of lighting configurations, the hood with the tank only has two light fittings.

Any advice would be greatly accepted.

It will be a planted community tank, and I live in the UK

Thanks

The sterilser comes with a step down fitting that you cut to fit the pipe you want to connect to it, so no need to buy extra bits, unless you cut it wrong
Put some shut off valves before and after the sterliser so you can turn these off to isolate the sterliser when you have to take it apart to clean it.
If you are going to have aplanted tank and dose ferts I would only have the steriliser on if needed, ie, green water out break. It will affect the ferts you put in and stop them from being as efficient. I have just turned mine off and it seems to really be helping.
Have the sterilser on the outlet of the filter.
