Is a fluval 3 enough for 130L , my mate gave me 1 for my older sisters tank. It says on the box it does 130 L but i thought u have to have a bigger turn over ?

I would say yes. I really like my fluval 3 and it does the job brilliantly :D

Do bear in mind what fish you have though...if they're messy you may want a larger one. Better to overfilter than not :D

That filter has about 500lph turn over rate which is good from most fish. Or is yours the plus version? because that’s about 700.

Cichlids and such will need a little more.

General rule is x3 to x5 the actual tank volume in turn over an hour.

Can u over filter a tank? One of my LFS told me that if you over filter you will take the good bacteria out of the water, to which i replied I thought the benifical bacteria lives in the filter media and gravel, I was shot down rather quickly, as he was rather sure over filtering would kill the fish....?

Its a Fluval 3 + , will she be ok to run that on its own ?

She will be fine with the fluvel 3+, the Fluvel 2 is only 360lphg turn over so that will give you just under x3 the tanks volume turn over an hour.

If you use the fluvel 2 i would stock the tank sightly light.

You cant over filter a tank relay. But you can only have so much water flow before the tank becomes a whirlpool and stress the fish.
