I currently have a fluval 3+, I was just wondering whther air bubbles have to be produce, so that the water is oxygenated enough? I dont have any blowing out at the minute, just small ripples on the surface.I'm worrying that theres not going to be enough oxygen for the fish?

Any help please?

Hi, if your filter exhaust is producing ripples on the waters surface then this is suffecient to increase oxygen obsorbsion. By causing ripples it actually increases the surface area which is where just about all the oxygen transfer takes place :good:

Bubbling is mainly for your choice of aesthetics and your fishes ammusment

Hi i use fluval filters in my tanks. As doresy said its down to you if you have the bubbles. For me i do as it looks good and sounds great as well. I also think it must add some sort of more oxygen into the tank.
