Right, my grandad has one pond in his back garden.
He used to have two but my nana got annoyed because she couldnt have flowers anymore!
So he filled in the biggest one and moved all the fish to the smaller one. There were 3 big koi they'd had for about 10 years and loads and loads of goldies.
Then in winter it got really cold, colder than its been in a while and a lot of the fish died, including the koi (my nana was so upset).
We think the cold must have broken something in the filter aswell, because it's broken now and wont work at all.
Because my grandad's been busy doing loads of woodwork he hasn't had time to fix it and he isn't the richest of people so he can't really go out and buy the best top of the range filter there is.
Is there any other solution to help clear the water? It's dark gren and horrible and the goldies look like they've had dropsy for months. Although to be honest these ones must be superfish, they've survived about 50 herons, frogs coming back every year, horrible winters, boiling hot summers and frequent holidays!
The pond is about 2.5 metres long, 1-1.5 metres wide and 0.75-1 metre deep.
He built them himself and everything!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
