Filter Pads ?

Whats the difference between Fluval Polyester Filter Pads and Fluval Carbon Filter Pads do I need them both in or just one or pass sorry new toy and lost the instructions doh !

Generaly, you don't run any form of carbon unless you need to remove medications and/or odors and/or discolouration from the water. All of these can be done by appropriate waterchanges though, so even then, it's hardly needed

If you had a choice between the two, I'd run all "Fluval Polyester Filter Pads" and no "Fluval Carbon Filter Pads" as the latter would need weekly replacements to do their job right, and that wold work out expencive, especially when they would do very little to help most tanks
