I've got a section of my family room that is undecorated. I can fit at least a 75 gallon tank there, so i need some options on the filtration. I am very unclear as to the fish i'd put into it, so i'm just going to assume that i'll pick those who give off a tremendous amount of waste, as opposed to little. It would be in a common area, so silent or close to silent operation is the best. With that being said, i've done research on the fluval 404 and the magnum 350. I can't decide which one i like better though. If price isn't an issue (i know that the fluval 404 is a bit more expensive than the magnum 350), which one (or another that i haven't looked at yet) do you guys prefer/stay away from, and why? thanks

I have a fluval 304, and love it. Silent operation, does its job great. No experience with the other brand. Are you ordering on-line or buying in the store? I ordered mine on-line and saved myself 40% :)

Don't know how i'm buying it yet. I want to sort out which one is the absolute best. Actually getting it is almost a secondary thing right now.

If price isnt a problem then go for one of the Ehiem models, the pro 2's are particually good but expensive, the cheaper classic models are great but dont have as many features as the pro range and the ecco range is great for planted tanks with low bio loads.

OK, sorry to have brought it up  . Just thought I'd offer that as a tip.
