Filter media

I've had an ich breakout in my 22gal and so after treating it with interpet no.6 and removing the carbon bags from my fluval 204 I really need to put some other media in the canister.

I'm away for a couple of weeks so I was thinking about putting general filter wool in as I won't be back to put the carbon in after treatment, is this a good idea?

I've got some polyfilter in there already but it's not enough.

Any thoughts?

if you can't get more polywool then how about bulking that out with
tights/stockings? Make sure they are clean but not straight from the washing machine, or better still new ones.

Good idea, polywool is about £12 for an 8x5" piece so any savings would be welcome!
