Filter Media

Hi,

I've got a Fluval 205 filter - and it came with 2 baskets of biomax media and 2 baskets of carbon.

After reading around on here, I've decided to take the carbon out rather then regularly replacing it.

Ive got some filter wool (Polywool) and some more biomax to replace the carbon.

I'm guessing it should be arrange as follows - can someone confirm this / make any other suggestions?

Top: Wool
Level 3: Biomax
Level 2: Biomax
Level 1: Biomax

Yep thats fine.

Actually, I would suggest you replace the biomax in the first basket the water passes through with a more mechanical type media. It will help prevent a lot of the solid waste from ending up clogging the biomax which will reduce its efficiency.
