Filter Media.

Hi all as you have to partially change your filter media now & then what is the best media to buy as i've been looking on ebay and come across this,is this any good do you know?

This is the only stuff you need to change unless your old stuff is falling to pieces... which will be a looooooong time.

Ah right thanks for that.... Yeah i was thinking i won't need to change it but i would need to wash it now & then wouldn't i? And i would do that in water i've took out from the tank so i don't destroy any good bacteria, correct?

Well the tiniest bit will wash away but the bacteria will all still be intact.

And yes always always wash in tank water.

I sometimes rinse filter floss under tap water to give them a little longer 'life', upside down on a high pressure tap removes all the dirt.
Few dips in some 'dirty' tank water after as the filter floss in my filter is above the bio noodles.
