Filter Just Went Louder

hi, so y'day workers in my street caused a power cut and electric was off for 2 hours, when i got in i noticed the filter is now much louder than b4, it still seems to be working fine though, can i fix it make it quieter? or will i just buy a new 1 and transfer the old media? cheers

It may settle down, just check none of the wires are vibrating too

I'd check the compartment where the impeller sits. Might be something stuck in it (like a snail).

is it an external canister filter?

Ait may have got in when it went off. Rock it from side to side and from back to front and that should dislodge any trapped air.

+1 Mine does the same thing if you take it out of the water and put it back in. For the first few minutes its little noisy while it pushes all of the air back out. Sort of a gargling noise. Its fine after an hour max tho!

Mine does the same when i turn the electric off or when theres no water in it.

its an internal, think its just a cheap make though.

it has a long pipe coming off the nozzle with small holes in it to slow down the water flow, as soon as i take this off it gets much quieter(its like its lost some power?). I also took the impeller out and gave it a clean.
