hi
wow it's been nearly 3 yrs since i last posted here
i'm planning to build a rear and side fake rock wall in my new 36" tank using polystyrene and cement and pond sealant
i want to hide the heater and filter intake behind the wall and was wondering if i could do something like this:
my intention is to extract water from the bottom corner of the tank, but also to ensure the heater gets a good chance to heat it as it heads for the filter
my filter is an eheim classic 2213, and i have heard that messing with the pipes (ie in this case, shortening the intake pipe) can cause reduced flow rate. does anyone think this might happen with this set-up?
also do you think i should put a grill in front of the hole at the bottom to stop fish getting in? i'm not sure it'd be a problem if they did go up there as of course there is a protective cap on the filter intake pipe
cheers
