so ill be setting up a 55 gal in the near future and was wondering what kindof cannister filter i cand get for about $140 or less that will keep my messy things clean.maybe an eheim or rena or suttin.

how about the tetra ex 1200? or maybe a Fluval 405 i reccomend an eheim 2028 but that is out of your price range. These are some large powerfull filters but you could happily have an eheim 2026, or an eheim 2224 or a fluval 305 or a tetra ex 700 these are cheaper but i always go for the larger ones. The tetra filter is a bargain i bought one for £70 so thats what $120? looks great set it up yesterday but the intsructions are rubbish. I have a fluval 205 but to be honest mine is more trouble than its worth. Eheims have a very good reputation but can be costly.

If you are on a tight budget. Maybe you can try a conventional power filter, the marineland Emperor 400 would be very efficient on a 55 gallon.

im not really on a tight budget ,i can shell out some good money when need be.so i know a filter loses effiecency after a while.but i would still like to have it be overfiltering the tank
how much does the 2028 cost.and will it still overfilter my tank once it loses performance

about £125 inc media so about $210 (US) the eheim will still overfilter your tank even if it did lose performance its suitable for tanks up to 600l yours is 210l

thats about what i spend on most of my fishing reels so i think i could muster it up.will the current be too strong for little petricola
