I have recently set up a 3ft/ 100litre tank. The tank is well planted and I am using a Eheim Professional 2 2126 Thermofilter. When the filter is on full power, the o/p seems too strong, (via a shortened spraybar) and I have 'throttled' back to about 1/2 power. This seems better for the fish-currently a shoal of cardinals, but will eventually have a another shoal of small tetras and some cories-maybe a couple of Angels.
Is it OK to run the filter at a slower rate, or should I go full power-will the fish be happy with the blast!

i have an eheim 2228. I cleaned it about 4 days ago. Today i noticed my tank was a little dirty, so i checked it out. Turns out the outlet pipe was kinked, so no filtration in 4 days. Didnt know different - the filter sounded the same. I would say it puts a little more stress on the motor but its nothing dangerous.
