Filter Built Into Tank Hood - Opinions?

And now to completely change the game up - I saw someone else on the forum mention the Juwel Lido 120: Juwel Lido 120 - Seapets

Now I did want to avoid the cube shape for my next tank, as it's what I have now and I think it limits the view BUT this way I can have a larger amount of water in the 78cm gap that I have available to me. Anyone out there want to comment on 1) this tank and 2) the cube shape?

Personally not a fan of the cube shape so much, but I think its just the black strips that puts me off on the corners. I think it distorts the view a bit. if want want a larger volume how about the aquaone 620t. It's similar to the 620t but taller so its also got a bigger literage.

Ooo glad you like it. I was tempted by it when I got mine but I have low shelves so it wouldst fit . Maybe of you were willing to pay for one, you should get a custom made stand?. My lfs do them made to measure on all different woods and everything, but maybe somewhere near you or online does?

I have the 170l Aqua One Bow Front tank with the built in filter in the hood. Although I think it is easier to clean and it does add a lot of oxygen into the tank, but it simply isn't strong enough for the tank and we had to buy an external filter. Just my experience

Thanks for the input - that's an imporant factor to consider. I'd be going for the 130L tall one for sure. When it comes to water circulation...if a filter isn't doing the job, would a well placed air stone help with this?

You'll have to upload a photo when you get it, is love to see. And yeah I would say an air stone would be fine if it needed it

Oh you can count on that, I'm a little nuts when it comes to the pictures haha. You've got a little while to wait though It'll prob be end of summer into autumn before I'm ready to commit to spending the cash. I'm too busy filling my new house with stuff at the moment (curtains, rugs and throw pillows, oh my!). I know, my priorities are all screwed up lol!

EDIT: Oh and lest I forget I have to get electrical outlets installed where I want the tank as well haha
