Hi All,

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I don't know which external filter to get for my tank.

I have a Fluval deep 800 tank which is approx 27.5 UK Gallons/126 litres. I know that the Fluval 305 filter is man enough for the tank I have, however I have read some posts on this site about leaking problems with these units. I have also been looking at the Eheim filters but to be honest I am not to sure which one would best for my tank. I have now found a Tetratec EX700.

Over the past couple of weeks I have recieved a lot of really good advice on this site and would like to know what seems to be the general opinion of you users and also what Eheim filter I should be looking at for a tank of my size?

Your help. once again, would be very much apprciated.

 Not The Fluval.

I dropped the water level in my tank to prepare for the big strip down, my 304 burped and coughed, and then took half and hour to get going again...... :grr:

Depends on the fish you have in there, but Eheim Classic 2213 (around £50 all inclusive) should do just fine. If you'd like a bit more current, then go for a 2215.
I run a 2213 on my 72 litres (19US gallon) which creates only the gentlest of currents and provides crystal clear water - though they are rated for up to 250l, I can't see how that would be effective.
