ha ha, depends whats underneath though, were thinking about doing something similar in one part of my living room, but there's a massive gap underneath......... gonna take a lot of concrete and therefore cost a fortune :/

aye was talking to one of my colleagues who's an architect and he reckons the best way to do it is just to cut out the joists and add in a steel type joist for uber support. Said it wouldn't be too expensive or hard to do........ but I suspect cheap on an architects salary is somewhat different to my idea of cheap :/

or you can just add in extra joists which gives some extra support, but not as much as the others but would be cheaper :/

ah well at least the labour would be free for me, just have to pay the architect for some calculations and then for materials, Ian can do the rest :good:
 
well im not gonna be able to afford anything like this when i move out so im not entirely sure what im gonna do yet.


have to speak to some kind of architect/surveyor myself probably.
