When filling a large tank for the first time, do you let the water dechlorinate in buckets and then add them to the tank or could you just fill the tank with a hose and then dechlorinate the water in the tank?

I think you can just put the water straight in there, and there should be some tablets which you can use to declorinate the water etc...

I will have more information on this in a day or two, as once i get a polystyrene sheet to put my tank on, i will be filling it for the first time, and cycling it for a week or so.

Since there are no fish in the tank, you can add the water to the new tank and then dechlorinate.

When there are fish, for example when doing water changes, I add the dechlorinator to the tank, then immediately add the water. Since I use a python, I find this works well.

HTH.
