Few questions..

Hi again.

Im looking at several sites that you guys have sent me (Thank you!) and I have a few questions.

When they say for example "LAOW Bi Color M14 With Spawn Sister $15 "

What exactly does "With Spawn Sister" mean? does that mean it comes in a pair, male and female?

and what is LAOW?

Im assuming M14 is male 14 years of age? if Im wrong, please correct me.

I want to make sure I get all my facts straight before jumping to ordering, which I almost did in my other post!

With spawn sister means it comes with a female from the same spawn, LAOW im not sure of, could be their own labeling of colors/mixings, and M14, should not be male 14 years, as that would be insane to see a betta live 14 years 15 months maybe. but i'm not sure.

i am guessing that the abbreviations are for the spawn group and the number of the fish pictured. if breeders have several spawns going, they number (or letter) them i think. the M14 probably means that he is male #14.

this is just my interpretation of the codes, and i'm not a breeder nor have i bought from a site like that, so i could be way off-base!

Yes, comes with spawn sister means you get the male, and a sis from the same spawn. It only matters if you are breeding. That way you have more of a chance of getting babies that look like the parents.

As for the "LAOW Bi Color M14: I think that is just a code he/she is using to keep track of her fish . Bi color means that it has 2 colors, and M14 probably means Male #14.

One more question.. what does BF Male stand for? BiFinned?

It stands for Butterfly..Its a pattern of colors.

I agree on the M14 standing for likely Male #14. Or it could easily be spawn M, #14. I've labeled mine M1, M2, M3, etc., which stands for the first letter of their father's name (Merlin), and then the order in which I jarred them. It could be anything like that.

BF is definitely butterfly pattern. It's a common abbreviation.

HM- Halfmoon
HMx- Over Halfmoon

I can't even guess at what LAOW means out of context.

With spawn sister does mean they come as a pair, one male, with female sibling from the same spawn.

Im gunna have to keep hunting. I dont want to purchase from Thialand.. the poor fish will be travelign too far and long. Im hoping to find some breeders in the US.
