Hello all

I have a 29 gallon community tank with live plants.

1- How many fish would be ideal for a 29 gallon? also what is the extreme, but ok? That is probably me.
2- Anyone have expirence with the Arcadia Original Tropical Lamp for your planted aquariums?

I like to have a bunch of fishes.

Let me know

Thanks

1. it depends on the fish and there size really and the quantity
2. sorry no experience with the Arcadia Original Tropical Lamp for your planted aquariums

tetras are good bunching/shoaling fish

1. If it's 29 US gallons then a total of around 29 inches of adult sized fish in total.
If it's 29 UK gallons then around 34 inches of adult sized fish in total.

Happy researching. It's the best part IMO

2. No idea. Ask in the planted section. They're more into that sort of thing :)

If you want a bunch of fish, then get small schools... like tetras, danios, platies, guppies, and cories. Just go to your LFSs to see what they have and what you like. Then research what would be compatible with those fish and their other requirements. Don't rush stocking you tank; take it slow and you should be very successful. Have fun. :D :good:

Also, I wouldn't go over the inch-per-gallon rule that jonesyUK mentioned.

I have a single Arcadia original tropical lamp lighting my tank. I have found my plants are growing quite well although my tank in only 15 gal and is shallow enough for it to provide sufficient light. I have also tried to put plants in where the light doesn't have to be very bright for them to grow.

I understand you can buy reflectors from Arcadia to increase the light from existing tubes by 50% plus, but I haven't tried it.

The tube does seem to bring out the colours of my fish very well though, much nicer than the standard white lamp which came with my tank.
