Could female bettas be kept like male bettas? Like without filtration and such? I have never tried, but was wondeering if after she delivered fry if the fry could use her tank, and I could move her to another w/o a filter/ heater (though I keep the room at a very warm temp.)

Thanks in Advance for any answers :D

Yes after spawning i keep my females like that for a week for them to get there strength back, then i put them back in with the rest. As long as you room is warm they will be ok.

What do you mean after she delivered fry?

Sorry to make that unclear lol. I am so used to breeding guppies. I mean after she spawns with the male, and he has chased her off. How long can I keep her like that?

2/3 days is ok but depends on the size of the tank, daily partial water changes would be preferable, I have sponge filters in my boys tanks and they get a 10% every day to keep fresh water going.

just make sure the water in the unfiltered and unheated tank it up to the same temp as the tank you are taking her out of. I usually take some water out of the spawning tank to put her in first then do daily changes from there
