i just wanted to know if i could have about 5-6 females in a community tank. the tank is 4 foot long and holds approx 30 UK galons. there will be lots of hiding places for the girls. i was originally going to put them in my hex tank. but ive since found after moving derek (my male betta) that he likes it in there. he has started with making bubble nests. something he never did in his 2 foot tank. i presume he must like it in there to be makng a nest. anyways any info any of you guys have on females in a community would be well appreciated. tia

females can go with a fair amount of fish....

however, things like guppies n things with larger/ more colourful tails COULD be a problem. they shoudl go nicely with all sorts of tetras, cories n things similar..:)

I have 8 females with Corys and something else I cant remember right now

No problems.

I have two in my 33 gallon - in with a spotted climbing perch, otos, two angel fish, two honey gourami's, and some cherry barbs. They're doing wonderfully. Very friendly little girls. And they only get a saucy with each other, never anyone else in the tank. And that's not very often because there's plenty of room.

the only thing ive had go wrong is the females turned against each other not on any other of the fish

atm I have a community tank with a female in it and she does just fine. It has guppies, tetras, swordtails, and mollies. She is the best behaved in the tank imo.
